I’ve heard a lot about Toronto company Uberflip lately.
I decided to check them out, and tested their platform via their free trial. I really liked how easy it was to create your hub, and there’s lot of tips on how to promote, measure, and manage your content.
I caught up with Hayley Mullen, Uberflip’s Content and Community Manager, to ask her a few questions about the product and what it can do for businesses.
What is Uberflip?
Uberflip is a content marketing automation software that takes all of your content — blogs, social media feeds, videos, eBooks, SlideShares, etc. — and centralizes it into what we call a content Hub. Not only does your Hub host your content, it gives you more control over it. You can edit content, author new posts from within the application, cherry-pick individual content pieces to place in custom streams for better targeting, and include call-to-actions that can be synced with HubSpot, Marketo, Eloqua or MailChimp for lead generation.
In a nutshell, we wanted to give marketers the ability to easily create an entire content experience, without the need for IT — and be able to use that experience to get more leads and more insight into your audience.
What will it help me do for my business?
It will make your content perform. We’re firm believers in the power of content marketing, and that it’s not just a new form of marketing but the future of it. That said, it can be hard to optimize your content marketing and even harder to know if your efforts are really paying off.
On one hand, a Hub lets you take advantage of the great platforms out there without risking your visitor’s attention (your video on YouTube may be great but let’s face it, none of us can compete with the latest cat video) and allows you to place customized CTAs within each stream. On the other hand, it lets you see what’s working when it comes to your content so you can keep giving your audience what they like. Each Hub has built-in metrics that track the performance of individual pieces of content, your Hub as a whole, call-to-actions, social shares, and more good stuff.
We actually use our own product in our daily marketing efforts (here’s our own content Hub!) and monitor these metrics to see which pieces are resonating with our visitors. We can adjust our content strategy accordingly, and by knowing which CTAs are best converting we can ditch the ones that aren’t.
How will it help me grow my business?
This is where the CTA feature shines. There’s a lot of attention paid to building brand awareness, thought leadership, audience relationships, and so forth with content marketing, which of course are important to your overall strategy. But in the end, it’s all about the bottom line.
You’re able to create two different types of CTAs — link CTAs and form CTAs — and place them throughout your Hub in a number of ways. Link CTAs can (surprise) link out to wherever you want them to. For instance, we’ve placed a CTA that goes to a landing page to download a package of SlideShare templates in our SlideShare stream.
Form CTAs are synced with marketing automation to collect visitor information and pull them into your sales funnel. Anyone who fills out a form CTA will be added to a list in HubSpot, Marketo, Eloqua or MailChimp depending on which software you’re using, so you can start nurturing those leads.
All CTAs can be placed on your Hub’s homepage, inside specific content streams or beside individual pieces of content. However, form CTAs can also be placed over individual items to gate them (a.k.a. a pop-up). If you’re strategic about these, either by gating high-value content or allowing for dismissal, they won’t annoy your audience. In fact, we saw our own blog subscription rate skyrocket by 900% in only a month just from using overlay CTAs on our blog.
Who uses Uberflip?
Any company that wants to get more out of their content marketing can use Uberflip — or any companies with clients who want more out their content marketing. Our customers range from enterprise level, to startups, to agencies and we have features at each level that will meet your company’s needs. For example, we know many larger organizations may want absolute control over the front-end experience of their Hub and likely have development resources at their disposal, so we created an API solution that lets them go buck wild.
How much does it cost?
There are 4 packages — Starter, Plus, Pro, and Enterprise — that start at $49.95 per month. You can try any of them free for 14 days, and we won’t we ask for any credit card information during that time (we promise). You can see all of the packages and the features they include on our pricing page but generally, Starter is for those who are new-ish to content marketing, Plus is for those who have already started to invest in it, Pro is for those who count content marketing as a core part of their strategy and Enterprise is well, pretty self-explanatory!
What can I expect from Uberflip in the future?
Uberflip will be the go-to content marketing automation platform, shouldering the brunt of your content marketing efforts. In the near future, we have quite a few things in the pipeline, but the one I’m most excited about is content scoring. This will give even deeper insight into how your content is affecting your bottom line.
Beyond this, we also recognize that it’s important to fit nicely within a company’s marketing ecosystem, and most of the time a big part of that revolves around marketing automation. You can expect that we’ll go deeper with our current integrations and add more to the roster.
